85mm & 100mm Hinge Jigs

Our modular hinge jig system is designed to make routing hinges fast, accurate and repeatable.

The templates attach to an 18mm timber story rod, allowing you to set your hinge positions once and transfer the exact same layout from the door to the jamb.

Rather than relying on a fixed-length jig, the modular design allows you to set the hinge spacing to suit different door heights and configurations.

Hinge Jig Features

Self-Centring Latch Jig

Not every 35mm or 40mm door is exactly the stated thickness. Fixed-width latch jigs can position the latch slightly off-centre, while adjustable jigs require measuring and resetting when changing between different door thicknesses.

Our Self-Centring Latch Jig automatically finds the centre of the door.

Simply fit it over the door edge, use the built-in centre-line notch to position your latch, secure the jig with clamps and route.

No measuring the door thickness. No setting the jig to 35mm or 40mm. No guessing the centre.

Latch Jig Features

• Self-centring design
• Suits 35mm and 40mm doors, including normal variations in actual door thickness
• No adjustment required when changing between door thicknesses
• Built-in centre-line notch for quick positioning
• Choice of 57.2mm × 25.2mm standard latch face template or 65.8mm × 26mm template to suit a Gainsborough Cavity Slider Latch Plate

Included TCT Template Router Bit

The included Shaw Can Carpentry TCT Template Router Bit is designed to work with both the hinge and latch jig systems, allowing you to move between the included templates without changing cutters.

Its bearing-guided design follows the jig templates accurately, while the tungsten carbide tipped cutting edges provide clean, controlled routing of hinge and latch recesses.
